In order to make money with your website, you need a steady flow of visitors. After all, traffic is the foundation on which all websites are built. If you are successful in attracting lots of traffic, your site and bank account will flourish. If you cannot build traffic, your site and income will suffer. There are a number of techniques to increase traffic (pronounced “make money”) to your website. Following is a list of methods to build your business:

Answer questions on Yahoo Answers - quote your website as the source. I have also added the URL to my website directly into my answer and they have published it just as I entered it. n
Use a signature links in forums that point to your site. You can get a good deal of traffic from forums if you provide good information and post often. Make sure you provide good information though. Otherwise, you will be labeled as a scammer and you will not get ant traffic.

Write articles and submit them to article directories. This technique works great but in order to be really successful, you have to write at least one to three articles each day. If you can write with this kind of volume, traffic will come flooding to your site after a few months.

Optimize the title of your pages for relevant keywords that people search for. Make sure your content is related to the keywords you enter.

Use Pay-Per-Click Traffic to advertise your site (Adwords, MSN, Yahoo, etc.)

Post links to your pages on social book-marking sites.

Submit videos to video sharing sites like YouTube, Metacafe, and Flixya. Make sure you include a link in the description and within the actual video.

Buy links to your site.

Buy reviews about your site on other people’s sites.

Review a product or company; if your review is positive, email the company and ask them to featured an ad on their site.

These are just a few of the less expensive methods to make money and increase traffic. Of course there are many, many more. You are only limited by your imagination.
