Children take all their troubles and woes to mommy. When they are hurt and need a band aid or even when they need to be comforted, mommy hugs them and makes them feel better. When the child is hungry, mommy takes care of that too. But who takes care of mommy? Mothers need some free time so that they can recuperate their depleted energy levels. Here are some guidelines for mommy to find time for herself. Make the most of your mom time Time is one thing that mothers are usually short of. However, one or two hours well spent and well managed will give time to restore your energy and also relax and recharge you adequately. Spend this quality time on some activity that works for you, such as a manicure, pedicure, or anything else that relaxes you in the time that you have available. Restructure your routines While restructuring or streamlining your routine, do things that are necessary such as making a shopping list of your requirements. When it is time to go shopping grab your list and complete it. Cook faster by getting a slow cooker. Put in the entire ingredients when you go out, and come home to a fully cooked meal. Clean the house by rote, which is set aside one day for cleaning the kitchen, another day for the bedrooms, and so on and so forth. Have the children participate and turn this into a fun activity. Make laundry more efficient. Separating the colored clothes from the whites usually takes quite some time. Again the children can participate by sorting out the laundry. Try and buy the same color socks so that you save time in matching them. Experts contend that reducing or getting rid of accumulated mess reduces housework by a whopping 40 percent! You can share your work with your family and friends. You don’t have to do everything yourself. Get Rid of Your Backlog What really prevents a mom from relaxing is that there is always something that had to done yesterday, or a child who needs attention. So make a list of things to be done and see what has necessarily to be done by you and what can be delegated. For instance if you love sewing then by all means sew everything yourself. If not, buy readymade curtains or clothes and save time for yourself. There are other family members who could take care of shopping or running errands. Related:Recovering Your Social Circle Delegate work to them. Use your talent and skills to do something that must be done. You can write the same thank you notes to all the mothers who brought their children to your daughter’s birthday party. There must be other moms who need baby sitters occasionally. Create a network and organize a system so that all moms in your network can get the maximum free time.
