Teeth are very important for living beings whose digestive systems require food to be chewed and ground for an easy passage through the digestive tracts. Besides their function of chomping down on variety of food items, human teeth are associated with beauty and esthetics as well. White teeth not only make a person look good, but also help in maintenance of oral hygiene. If you thought that having whiter teeth was possible only for celebrities and models, following the below mentioned simple teeth whitening measures would surely surprise you:
Brush morer
You’ve heard this right since your school days, but in all honesty, it’s absolutely true. Brushing teeth more often is the simplest and best method to take care of your teeth. Ideally, you should aim to brush at least three times a day, but as most people can rarely find time from work to brush teeth in the middle of day, it’s wise to brush before bedtime.
Eat crunchy foodsr
Our ancestors like the early men and cave men didn’t have the luxuries of having a toothbrush or a paste with them. Instead, they would maintain their dentals by having crunchy foods such as apple, carrot, celery, etc. The chemicals present in these foods not only act as teeth whiteners, but also help prevent bacteria and oral cavities. Malic acid is one such chemical that is found in apples and strawberries, which are of course not crunchy!
Strawr
While this may sound like a really absurd idea, using a straw to drink coffee, tea, wine, etc., will at least minimize the contact of these substances with your teeth otherwise. The aforementioned substances carry strong compounds that can have telling effects on your teeth. For instance, coffee has nicotine and wine has alcohol, which are both teeth quality degrading agents.
Baking soda and lemonr
Lemon, as most of you must know, is rich in citric acid that’s good not just for the teeth but the rest of the body as well. When added to baking soda, lemon forms a potent mixture for combating plaque, cavities, and staining of teeth. However, one should be careful to not to overuse this mixture, as excess of baking soda is actually bad for teeth, it can erode teeth enamel pretty badly.
Hydrogen peroxider
If you can get your hands on some FGHP, i.e. food grade hydrogen peroxide, there would be nothing like it. This is because hydrogen peroxide is a natural bacteria inhibitor, which means you’ll have less teeth and oral problems. To use this product, just swish some amount of FGHP around in your mouth and spit it out. If you want a more diluted solution, make a 50/50 mixture of FGHP and water; swish it around in your mouth and well, you already know what to do next.
Oil pullingr
Oil pulling is a great Indian remedy primarily for enhancing oral health, in addition to cleansing one’s body as well. This method is actually very simple and inexpensive. All you have to do is take a tablespoon of organic oil and swish it around in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. Move the oil around through sipping, sucking and pulling it through your teeth. Make sure that you immediately rinse your mouth after spitting out the oil. Two to three cups of purified water should easily be enough to escape the oil residue, or the aftertaste of oil in your mouth.
