The number one complaint in the workforce today among employees is that they do not feel that the company that they work for recognizes and appreciates them. This can cause a clear lack of morale and team spirit. Many employees feel that they have much to contribute to an organization. They feel that the company does not do enough to motivate them to work harder and more efficiently. When this type of mindset enters the workplace, corporations must find creative ways to make their people feel as though they are a valuable part of the team.

Employees sometimes believe that they are not recognized for their efforts and are not as important to the organization as they would like to be. Some believe that their efforts are wasted at times and that their supervisors are out of touch with the role that they perform. Good supervisors know that people are inspired by different intrinsic concepts. Some employees are motivated by verbal accolades, some by monetary compensation and some are motivated by gifts and incentives. All employees need to feel as though they contribute in a meaningful way and that their work is both valued and appreciated.

In an effort to keep a high employee retention rate as well as a high employee satisfaction rate, many companies offer employee service award programs. This can be very motivating to all workers, whether they are newly hired or seasoned employees. The type of gift that a company might offer can range from the inexpensive to luxurious. Some are personalized for the employee and some are made to commemorate a team or company effort. Smaller companies might offer more practical incentives, whereas larger corporations may choose to spend a little more for quality. Ultimately, company gifts are worth what the employee feels that they are worth. A cheaper gift may cause workers to feel much unappreciated and can be very demoralizing.

High end gifts, such as gold jewelry and diamond rings are rewards that employees will keep and wear for years to come. Many employees treasure tangible gifts of recognition, especially if they are of a higher quality. The type of incentive that companies offer can motivate employees to be loyal, more professional and more contentious at work. This promotes a high degree of job satisfaction, which helps the organization to run more smoothly and efficiently. An employee who has been given a very classy gift feels more fulfilled in his or her role and inspires other to do their best.

Employee service award programs benefit the organization by boosting morale and ultimately sales. When employees are rewarded for their hard work, they feel that they are valued. Their performance reflects their level of job satisfaction. Employees find creative ways to contribute to the company’s bottom line when they are inspired to contribute. They know that the work that they do is highly regarded and that they are an important part of the team. They feel a positive sense of responsibility to do their best for a company that truly appreciates them.
