The entire world is going mobile, which explains the alarming increase in the number of mobile applications in the tech market. Mobile based apps are trending amongst users who wish to access information on the go. Thus, today the marketplace is filled with applications based on almost all major programming platforms. Java application development is also gaining great momentum amongst mobile users, but there is a crucial issue that is hindering the acceptability of these apps at a large scale- difficulty in downloading these apps directly onto handheld devices. Most app lovers still struggle with first downloading the apps on their Windows based PC and then transferring them to their mobile phones. This is a tedious process and can take hours at times. To make things simplified, this article lists down the various steps that enable you to directly download Java applications on a mobile platform.

Step 1: Foremost, check if your phone is capable of running Java based applications. In top-rated phones such as iPhone, you find a Java icon on the top, while for other phones you can do a quick Yahoo or Google search. If your phone doesn’t fall under any particular brand, make sure you ask the supplier at the time of purchase that whether the phone is able to run Java or not.

Step 2: Connect your phone with the USB port of your computer. The very next moment a new removable drive is created in your “My Computer”. If your phone has a memory card installed, two removable drives will be created. Create a new folder inside the removable drive and name it ‘Java’ (just to ensure that everything works out in a managed way and later, you don’t have to struggle to locate your downloaded files.)

Step 3: Search the web and look for any Java applications that intrigue your interest. Once you have shortlisted an app of your choice, start downloading it.

Step 4: Once the download is complete, you will have a zipped file on your system. There is no need to unzip the file. All you need to do is to click and drag the zip file from your PC onto your mobile using the USB or data cable that you used in step 2.

Step 5: Now you can disconnect your cell phone from the PC. Go to the file manager in your phone and look for the folder that you named ‘Java’. Navigate through the folder and you will find your Java application. Click it to start installation. After this, the installation will begin automatically and your phone will notify you once it’s completed successfully.

Step 6: Open the program that operates Java applications on your phone, open your application and start using it.

And that’s it! Remember, that Java apps are not compatible with every phone model, so even if your load them, they might not work well. It is recommended that you try with free apps first or look for trial versions. Java web application development can do a lot more than just giving an entertainment edge to your phone. Some of them even enhance the functionality of your phone. So, select your app carefully.

Yet behind every call that connects and every message that reaches its destination, there is another system quietly working in the background. That system is the call center.
