If you are like most people, you probably want to get your ex back after getting dumped. You find yourself wondering if it's even possible to ever get that relationship back. I want you to know, from personal experience, that it is absolutely possible. But Let me first warn you that this isn't going to be easy. But this is a potential outcome.

So long as the two of you still have any sort of emotions for each other after the breakup, you can always get back together. This feeling doesn't have to be love, it can be anything. Even if your ex is incredibly peeved at you, you can do this. You may have noticed that the opposite of love is apathy, not hate. It might not always be easy, but you can change any emotion into love.

You'll certainly be fighting an uphill battle here. Right now your relationship is teetering on that fine line between making up and breaking up. You'll want to be cautious about how you proceed from here. In order to get back together and save your relationship, you'll have to be very disciplined.

First you need to keep your urge to call, email, or text your ex begging them to take you back under control. When someone dumps us, it is human nature to naturally want to get them back. You'll only hurt your chances of getting back together with your partner if you think about the situation this way. You have to realize that your ex probably ended the relationship to get some "space" and constantly trying to contact him is not giving him space. In fact it will push your partner even further away from you.

For two to four weeks, try to cut off all contact with your ex. Then when you're ready you can send your ex a quick note apologizing for anything you may have done wrong that led to the breakup. You need two people to have a relationship so you have to understand that both people hold at least some of the responsibility in a breakup. If you can't pin-point any ways you might have helped cause the end of the relationship, then you simply have to think about it a bit more. Maybe you weren't understanding enough or maybe you didn't stand up for yourself enough.

Meet your ex for coffee so the two of you can have the chance to catch up. Don't come off like you're overly eager to see your ex. Treat it like you are just meeting up with an old friend that you haven't heard from in a while. When the two of you meet, keep everything fun and easy-going. During the "coffee date" you just want to remind your ex of how much fun the two of you can have together and reignite all the good memories. Don't pressure your partner to get back together, just keep things informal.

If coffee seemed to go well, you can then try going out on a more conventional date with your ex. It could be something as easy as dinner and a movie. You'll have to be patient if you want to get back together with your ex after getting dumped. Don't rush things; take it easy and slowly like you would if you were dating someone new. Remember not to talk about any serious stuff, unless your partner brings up the subject. Keep going on dates with your ex as long as everything keeps progressing well. Before too long your partner will remember what made them fall for you to begin with. And the two of you will be happily back in a relationship again.

“That is not a good look for you, sweetie,” I grumbled, as I perused the fifty-something woman in stylishly tattered jeans sauntering down the boulevard. “You might try pushing away from the dinner table every now and then, pal,” I sneered, as, red-faced and profusely sweating, the morbidly obese man lurched from the YMCA sauna for the third time. “Pull over and goddamn Google it,” I snarled as the Florida tourist in front of me drove fifteen miles per hour in a f
