These days, it is incredibly difficult for low income and middle and working class families to survive. Job opportunities are becoming more and more scarce. This major problem is compounded by two distinct, yet equally burdensome factors. The first is that the cost of living is increasing, almost exponentially so, on a daily basis. Basic necessities become more and more expensive, making it difficult for individuals and families from poorer neighborhoods to afford them. Individuals on a fixed income, including the elderly, are facing the very real threat of starvation. Many of the elderly persons currently living in the United States of America today live solely on their social security check. This amount remains the same month in and month out. So, if the prices of essential goods, such as food, gas, and such, continue to rise they will have more and more of a problem as time goes by. The second factor that serves to threaten to destabilize an already shaky economy is the decline in the average wage of the American worker. Wages have been pretty much frozen across the board, with the notable exception of CEO’s, CFO’s, and board members giving themselves large bonuses while the average worker has to deal with the increased price of goods and services. This serves only to make things more difficult for the average worker while the top brass of many Fortune 500 companies continue to prosper, oblivious to the hardship their actions and policies causes for many Americans. In this precarious economic climate, many average citizens of the United States of American have forgone making large purchases, like brand new electronic devices, instead choosing to either save their money, invest it, or spend it on more practical items such as food or gas. Thusly, this has started to affect the way many companies do business. They can no longer hope to suck the American worker dry, free of consequences. Many high tech businesses are scrambling to try and find a way to deal with this new economic world order. Therefore, many high tech businesses are turning to a highly qualified, skilled, and specialized high tech PR firm to help them insulate themselves from the current recession. So what can a highly qualified, skilled, and specialized high tech PR firm do to help technology- savvy businesses increase their overall profits? The answer is surprisingly simple. High tech PR firms have to do every possible thing they can think of to prevent scandal. A scandal is most often caused by bad or harmful information leaking to the press about a particular high tech company, who then run with the story, and thereby shape public opinion towards that company. It is the duty of a highly qualified, skilled, and specialized high tech PR firm to prevent this from happening. This is accomplished through the use of subterfuge to prevent the dissemination of harmful information. Many high tech PR firms use newspaper men and women to help advance the causes of their clients. High tech PR firms will apply pressure to their contacts in the event of the rise of a potential scandal. Their contacts will do everything and anything they can to convince their editors that said story is invalid. While not explicitly illegal, this practice is frowned upon; so many high tech PR firms do it quietly under the table, so as not to attract attention to themselves, so they and their clients can continue operating for a long time.
