It is important for businesses to market their product or services effectively if they expect to be successful. Marketing is about directing the focus of the audience in a certain direction. Typically, a business will choose some kind of brand that can be associated with their company so that when that brand is seen, it is recognized as their product.

Branding is a way of communicating the benefits of the product to the consumer in a way that no matter where they are or how it is presented, they recognize that brand and immediately think of the advertisements, of its benefits, what it is for, etc. It is vital to the success of the company that the brand be unique to it and unmistakably its own unique design. A design that may be confused with a different, more popular brand could cause confusion and loss of customers. Customers do not like to feel they have been fooled. Branding a business with a design that is too similar to another gives the impression the company is trying to infringe on the popularity of the other business.

Six Sigma has used this type of marketing extremely effectively. The methods of the Six Sigma programs become more and more popular as more businesses utilize them to improve the overall quality of their products and services. Because of the successful of the Six Sigma brand, company owners are beginning to see the value of using the models of improvement and hiring Six Sigma professionals, either on a consultation or freelance basis or as a staff member, holding a different position while having a Black or Green Belt certification.

It is easier than ever to get the word out, advertise and market a new brand because of the invention of the Internet. The Internet has opened up the door of opportunity to many new businesses by providing ways to create a logo, do their own advertising or hire a marketing business. A great deal of business takes place on the Internet today, so it stands to reason that advertising there is an excellent idea. When people want to know information about something, they will frequently search for it on the internet. Creating on the web advertisements with new brand information is a good way to reach this worldwide audience.

Six Sigma professionals successfully advertise the Six Sigma brand by using the Internet and several other methods of advertisement. Businesses can profit by using the same methods of advertisement for their companies, creating a buzz for their particular brand of products or services, and finding success in the on the web marketplace.
