Take every little chance to promote your business to potential customers - have stickers printed and applied to your work van and have custom tshirts and jumpers made with your business name and telephone number and/or web address on.
Get yourself on Facebook
Most Internet users are using Facebook to connect with friends to communicate and share photos. Take advantage of this by creating yourself an account to promote your business with, you can also use the profile to upload photos of jobs as you complete them to demonstrate the quality of your work. You should create a Facebook Page to promote your business. You can link your page to your profile so any status updates are synchronised, you can also create custom tabs on your Page which may be useful if you want to add a styled description of your services (you can use HTML to style content).
There are many opportunities out there that are great for promoting your business and generating new customers, the success rate of each method varies depending on different industries and different locations. Sometimes it is best to test the water to see which proves the most effective method before investing heavily and it would be good to do something original that sets you apart from your customers to catch the eye of potential customers.
