Michel Gauquelin along with his wife and working partner Francoise decided to see what all the fuss was about with Astrology. They both studied statistics and were armed with thousands of birth dates.
They initially entered 2,000 birth dates of eminent athletes to see if anything in their charts indicated anything unusual in comparison to the regular population.
What Did They Find?
Well, they found that a higher than normal amount of eminent athletes were born with either Mars rising or have it between the 8th and 10th houses.* With Most Notable Of Athletes Having Mars Rising Or Near The First House.*
That Can't Be True Can It? There Really Is A Pattern?
Yes, there is! Astrology has long held that certain planets within a few degrees of the four angles of a persons chart were significant. Now with the Gauquelin's stats backing it up it wasn't all just fanciful guess work.
The four angles play a vital role: Rising, Descendant, IC and Midheaven.
They further concluded that very successful persons in their field had either Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Satu
near one of the four angles of their chart.
Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Satu
the only planets found to have significant influence:
Sportsmen - Mars, lack of Moo
Military - Mars or Jupite
Actors - Jupite
Doctors - Mars or Saturn, lack of Jupite
Politicians - Moon or Jupite
Executives - Mars or Jupite
Scientists - Mars or Saturn, lack of Jupite
Writers - Moon, lack of Mars or Satur
Jou
alists - Jupiter, lack of Satur
Playwrights - Jupite
Painters - Venus, lack of Mars or Satur
Musicians - Venus, lack of Mars
Despite this type of compelling evidence skeptics continue to denounce astrology as bunk.
For those that feel there is something more to astrology, this study offers some comfort. With all of the outside chatter they at times themselves may question how planet positions can reflect what is going on in their own lives. Having statistics in their corner does help further validate this mysterious and odd way of seeing events and people.
A quick easy way to see if you have any of the planets in prominent positions is to have a look at your chart. Check the four angles to start with: Ascendant - Descendant - Midheaven and IC. The closer a planet is to those areas the stronger the influence will be felt. You could very well be overlooking a certain talent or talents because of outside influences or other factors in your life. Or you may have known it all along and are currently enjoying your positive character traits!
Modern Astrologers owe the Gauquelins a debt of gratitude for establishing some semblance of a link between Science and Astrology. If their curiosity hadn't been aroused we most likely would never have had a promising link between the two. Just because it's an old art does not mean it doesn't have value.
Even today with the most modern cranes available - not one of them could come close to lifting even one of the great Pyramid's blocks. Old doesn't automatically equal zero value.
Some things in the world are just more sophisticated and bigger than the handful of egos that try to derail them.
Kind Regards
