Marsh Kent is one of the founder pioneers of the DRTV industry. By 1990, she had already produced her first major hit, the Miracle Blade Infomercial. She is one of the founders of Kent & Spiegel Direct. By 1992, she had already created Kent TV Marketing.rnThis is Marsha Kent for you. Having amassed a wealth of experience in strategy, creative direction and product positioning, she is the spearheading, dynamic trend leader of the Direct Response TV industry, and a wizard in the art of, or should we say, science of direct marketing. rnMarsha Kent is an Angeleno. Wondering what that is? Well, Marsha is from the city of Los Angeles, having been born and brought up in this American hotspot locale, the “City of Angels”. She has had a fast-paced, checkered life, having grown up along the Santa Monica beach, taking to surfing by the time she was 15, and already completing 7 years of higher education by the age of 21 years. When she was 25, she was running her own jewelry design and sales business; all major deparment stores were selling her pieces off their shelves.rnMarsha was excellent in academics, but art stumped her.And then one day, her teacher put up her clay sculpture for the class to see, and Marsha saw where her future lay. This insight was to shape her life and career. Marsha Kent found her passion in interior design, and the then unexplored vistas of the TV world. Direct Marketing was at its nascent stages then, and the creative side of Marsha soon began to envisage manifold possibilities. She soon had Kent TV Marketing up and running, with her first Infomercial, Miracle Blade I turning into a runaway hit. An infomercial is a television commercial mainly talking about the product that it wants to promote, usually with a telephone number or a website address given. Miracle Blade was such a huge success that it grossed millions of dollars in sales within a very short time. Miracle Blade, a set of multi-purpose knives, opened up the portals to the tele-shopping world. A slew of infomercials soon followed, and when Marsha Kent joined forces with Peter Speigel, to form Kent & Spiegel Direct, there was no looking back. Many products that this duo successfully launched made it to the top, within weeks of their being aired on television. “Marsha is able to gauge the consumer’s minds so well, that even before they bat an eyelid, they have the perfect product in their laps, delivered to their doorsteps!” gushes a marketing pro. “Marketing talent at its best!” he says. rnMarsha Kent devotes a lot of her time to various charities and philanthropy, something that is very close to her heart. “I do not like to create a buzz about the work I do in this field”, she says.
