A dress is essential for every girl’s wardrobe. It is the perfect garment to wear to evening parties and during the summer when you want to look chic and keep your body cool. Different types of dresses suit different body shapes, so it is important to choose the right one for you.

Pear-shaped women should go for dresses that are no shorter than a couple of inches above the knee. A low V-neck or halter design are perfect choices for balancing a wider lower-body.

If you have a wide waist, then you are likely to be an apple-shaped lady. Distract attention from this area by choosing a dress that has a drop waist or empire-style waist. It is best not to incorporate a belt into your outfit either.

If you have a small bust, then you can get away with higher-necked dresses. It is ideal to avoid low necklines, as these will make you look more boyish. Layered dresses are great for adding volume and depth to balance things out.

If you are the opposite of this and have a larger bust, then V-necks will suit you well. A-line skirts that end a couple of inches above your knees can also balance your body out and look very flattering.

If you are very slim and have an athletic figure, then it is best to go for dresses that incorporate layers and add volume to your body shape. A belt around the waist can also help to make you look proportionate.
