A production or manufacturing company that has Market Development Fund (MDF) system is one of the best systems a company should have for its dealers and retailers. MDF funds are systems or solutions that can support a channel partner by providing funding to better promote business. This strategy, if properly implemented will yield great results in profits and return of investments. However, there are some manufacturers that are experiencing difficulties with their MDF funds and channel portals or resellers. They often complain that this strategy is costing them more than making them profits. There is one simple explanation why there strategies don’t work and that is they have unstructured MDF programs which often create channel conflicts than solutions. The problems often experienced by both manufacturing companies and distributors when it comes to MDF funds can be classified into two main reasons: Poor MDF Strategies – the common mistake of manufacturers when implementing MDF programs is that they lack input from their resellers or dealers. Dealers need to get involved in every step of the way when it comes to creating a successful MDF fund program. Manufacturers must exactly know what they want on their programs and if the resellers feel like they have no use for that type of program it must be made known before implementation. Every effective MDF strategy needs planning and feedback from both sides to be very effective and beneficial. If programs have no proper input from both parties concerned it would create more problems than solutions. Poor Implementation and Management – normally, the lack of input from resellers or dealers would not cause the MDF funds program to collapse and fail. It would be poor MDF administration and management. Most programs created without the proper input from both parties would end up being too complicated and bothersome. Even large companies often make these types of mistakes but today there are a lot of helpful products to maximize the effects of MDF funds for both parties involved. Running the most efficient partner portal programs or solutions can really maximize the benefits for both manufacturers and dealers. This type of web-based programs can really maximize productivity and increase work efficiency for both parties. Making the right choice of solutions and systems is very critical for the success of the manufacturer and reseller. Do several online checks for the different portal partner programs available on the net today. You can further check specific products by attending their symposiums and webinars to better understand what they have to offer. Making the right choice is not very easy but with the proper attitude and research you can find the best partner portal solutions for your MDF funds programs.
