Measures of Success

Money is not the only Measure of Success

Considering money as the only success measure can be very discouraging, especially when we start a business or new venture, join a networking marketing company, or go through changes and business expansions. When I hear the frustrations from my clients of small companies, large organizations, or network marketing businesses about the lack of financial progress, I work with them on two key areas to transform the results.

"Success is finding satisfaction in giving a little more than you take." ~ Christopher Reeve

The two areas we work on are defining success and creating a success mindset.

1. Define Success Holistically

Think about the many areas you and your business have an impact on every day and redefine your success measures. Here are important key measures to consider:

  • Quality Results and Services: The difference you, your product or service make for others and the transformations they experience. - Development and Advancement: You and your teams development and advancement, the skills learned, confidence, and competence gained. - Visibility and Recognition: The visibility you gain in the community or industry; the appreciation you receive from your clients and customers. - Networks and Relationships: The established social networks which, without your business, you would not have; the experts you meet; the friends you make. - Growth: The growth you experience personally by meeting new people, traveling, learning new systems and processes, and stretching beyond your comfort zone.

When you look at these different areas, you will get excited by the changes. Changes in you and your business’ growth and success, thus giving you the drive to continuously take inspired actions toward your goal. As Picasso said, “Action is the foundational key to all success.”

For your personal life, you can apply this too and define your holistic measures of success, your progress in the areas of health, fitness, self-care, family, relationships, spirituality, hobbies, leisure time, travel, and more.

2. Success Mindset from the Inside Out

Create the success mindset from the inside out. To do this, you must focus on what you want your life and business to look like. I've said before that whatever we give attention to will grow.

When we look at the bottom line results that are less than expected and start worrying about what we see, we create more of what we don't want. In an earlier article, How Do Results Happen? (http://amazingresults4you.com/new-blog/2015/4/27/how-do-results-happen), I shared how feeding our mind with negative thoughts will bring us more of the same, more of the results that we do not want. This is because whatever we focus on will become reality. As you heard before, “thoughts become things” and it is key to change our mindset from one of lack to one of abundance, from Negative to Positive.

Become aware of how you are measuring success and what aspects you focus your energy on. Is it time to make a shift? Try a new approach and see if you can achieve different results! Amazing Results.
