What is Medicare?rnMedicare provides access to medical and hospital services for all Australian residents and certain categories of visitors to Australia. They administer Medicare and pay Medicare benefits on behalf of the Department of Health, that is responsible for developing Medicare policy. What does it cover? Free or subsidized treatment by health professionals such as doctors, specialists, Optometrists, dentists and other allied health practitioners. You will be able to benefit from their free treatment and accommodation for public Medicare patients in a public hospital. Up to 75% of the Medicare Schedule fee for services and procedures if you are a private patient in a public or private hospital. This does not include hospital accommodation and items such as theater fees and medicine. They only pay the Medicare benefits in accordance with the legislation governing Medicare and not outside of this legislation. All Breast Augmentation - No rebate available.
