Meditation Brain Waves – How to Control Them

When we meditate our brain waves actually change. The frequency of our brain waves lower so that we are able to experience higher levels of consciousness, altered states of mind as well as experience the extreme benefits that go along with that. Unfortunately to be able to experience these low frequencies it often takes many years of practice and discipline and dedication. When we are in our everyday awake state we are in the Beta state. When we first start to meditate the goal is to get from the Beta state to the Alpha state. Alpha brain waves allow us to experience higher levels of cognitive learning. It can be extremely difficult for a beginner meditator to experience the benefits of Alpha waves because of the time and patience it takes to get there. We literally need to be able to put our conscious mind aside, stop the mind chatter, relax in a quiet environment and deep breathe. Then we need to practice that over and over again to slip from the Beta state to the Alpha state… it is easier said then done. After we have experienced Alpha brain waves the ultimate goal is to experience Theta waves. The Theta state is where all those experienced with meditation want to get to. If you can experience Theta brain waves you have the opportunity to experience not only altered states of mind but also to tap directly into your subconscious and experience many different benefits from doing this. Experiencing Theta brain waves have been known to:
  • Improve sleep
  • Improve health and build the immune system
  • Greatly lower stress and anxiety
  • Stop unwanted habits and tendencies
  • Improves emotional stability
  • Improve memory and focus
  • help achieve altered states of consciousness
  • and much more.
Controlling your brain waves while you meditate is truly the key to experiencing deep meditation and reaping the rewards that come along with it. The best way that I know to be able to experience Theta meditation is through the use of brainwave entrainment products such as binaural beats. Using Binaural Beats for Deep Meditation Binaural beats and other brainwave entrainment products like monaural beats and isochronic tones can actually allow us to experience Theta brain wave meditation quickly and efficiently. They are scientifically proven, have been documented and researched for well over one hundred and seventy years and are one hundred percent safe. Many people have been using brainwave entrainment products for years in order to experience altered states of consciousness and deep meditation states and have already realized the immense benefits that come along with this. There are many different sources for binaural beats and they typically come in MP3 downloads or CD format. I would simply caution that you make sure the products you are using are pure, original, raw recordings that have been specially created by a professional sound engineer. Some companies offer stock recordings that do not contain the same quality or effectiveness. If you want to experience different meditation brain waves and low frequencies as well as experience the great benefits that come along with it then binaural beats are definitely the way to go.
