Megan Fox has appeared in various newspapers and magazines this year after photos showed how much weight she had lost from sticking to a strictly vegan diet. Unfortunately these photos were not exactly flattering because she looked extremely gaunt and skinny, which is never a good look on anybody.
However whilst many people mistakenly believe that they look good looking like this, Megan realised that she had lost too much weight and immediately did something about it. She gave up the vegan diet and started eating normally again. This helped her to put a few pounds back on and start looking her best again, but she also started doing a lot of exercise so she could keep her fit and healthy body.
This is the point. There is nothing wrong with going on a diet in order to lose weight, but you have to know when to stop because otherwise your weight could swing too far the other way, and you end up looking even worse. Indeed I would even say that it is better to be slightly overweight than slightly underweight, and I know from speaking to many of my friends that a lot of men feel the same way.
Your goal should be to lose your excess body fat first of all through a good exercise program and a healthy diet. Then you should take steps to maintain your new weight and possibly tone your body if you so wish.
You can maintain a healthy body by doing lots of aerobic exercise such as running, cycling and swimming. However if you want to tone up, you want to be doing certain exercises that will work certain muscles, whether it's your arms, abs or legs, for example.
Investing in a set of dumbbells will certainly help. You obviously don't want to buy the heavier ones that men use because the lighter ones that are geared towards women are more than adequate. After all the last thing you want is to develop huge muscles. You should find that these dumbbells come with some kind of exercise chart so you will quickly learn what kind of exercises you should be doing in order to tone up certain parts of your body.
Ideally you should combine aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise because this will leave you with a great looking body, and you will also be supremely fit as well. You can do aerobic exercise on one day and anaerobic exercise using dumbbells the next, alte
ating between the two and allowing yourself rest days every so often to allow your body and your muscles to recover.
The point is that you should try and emulate what Megan Fox has done because she is doing exactly the right things in order to look her best. Sometimes you can become too thin if you are not careful, so you need to first of all get up to a healthy weight (where your bones are not showing through your skin), and then eat healthily and do plenty of exercise to maintain this healthy and attractive body.
