Menopause symptoms are caused by fluctuating hormone levels in the female reproductive system and these can be very irritating however 70% of women bear these symptoms while approaching menopause but their effect can be reduced if not completely avoided by using natural remedies. Generally menopause symptoms start to show up in the age around 40, this stage is called pre-menopause and gradually these symptoms get more and more intense as woman gets closer to menopause.
Some common symptoms of menopause are hot and cold flashes, these are sudden and passing waves of heat or warmth experienced in the body and in some cases may even cause redness on face and upper body. Night sweating is also experienced by most of the women in which woman perspires heavily in the night while asleep. These two symptoms generally accompany each other. Vaginal dryness is another symptom associated with menopause causing atrophy of female genitals making it rough and thin. This can also make genitals prone to yeast and bacterial infections.
Irregular menstrual cycle is common symptom of menopause where a female sometimes have very short period of bleeding and on another cycle may have heavy bleeding. In some cases woman skip periods and do not have any bleeding on date. Mood swings are also evident as a woman approaches menopause these mood swings are temporary but make the behavior of the woman very unstable. Hair loss, loss of concentration, memory lapses can happen to any person but if accompanied by other symptoms of menopause are caused due to hormonal fluctuations in the body of female. Fatigue, dizziness, weight gain, incontinence and brittle nails can be symptoms of many medical conditions and they can be evident in woman approaching menopause too. Some other related symptoms of menopause are change in body odor, more severe headaches, breast pain or softness, aching joints etc but these symptoms alone are not clear evidence of menopause unless accompanied by other symptoms too.
Natural remedies can control and make these symptoms bearable without any side effects. Consumption of soybeans and isoflavones at least 50 gram per diet can be very helpful in relieving many symptoms of menopause. The soy proteins provide estrogen to the body which is in scarcity in the body of female approaching menopause. Black cohosh is also very helpful in controlling hot flashes and night sweating and chasteberry is used to control mood swings, anger and breast pain as it inhibits prolactin hormone in the body.
Consumption of beet root juice in the quantity of 90ml per day is very beneficial in relieving the symptoms of menopause. Carrot seeds boiled in cow's milk for 20 minutes and later cooled and consumed along with the milk is also very beneficial natural remedy for relieving symptoms of menopause. Licorice roots consumed in the diet or as a supplement in the quantity of 5 mg per day helps the body in balancing hormonal secretion and production which is the main cause for most of the problems faced by the woman approaching menopause. Consumption of alfalfa, sprouts, cabbage, and use of olive oil or soy oil in cooking is also very useful natural remedy for menopause symptoms.
