Mesothelioma Lawyer Urged on Further Study of Asbestos Cancer (January 24, 2011) A lawyer from Framingham, Massachusetts is moving forward with further study on asbestos cancer solutions as another victim died early this month resulting from exposure. According to reports, a 57-year old firefighter named Mike Urban died after being diagnosed with mesothelioma or asbestos cancer, following an earlier incident of asbestos cancerdeath of one of his co-workers. Despite the fact that reports have not yet provided the records from where Urban acquired the disease, family members have speculated that asbestos exposure may have caused the death of Urban. Several years ago, both local Hollis Street and Saxonville fire stations were previously reported to have asbestos. Authorities said that there is a strong possibility that Urban inhaled asbestos for a prolonged period of time. Meanwhile, the mesothelioma lawyer mentioned that increasing incidence of asbestos cancer deaths suggest that the treatments we have today are not adequate. He claimed that whilst there have been some modest improvements in prognosis from newer chemotherapies and multimodality treatments, the prognosis for malignant mesothelioma still remains disappointing. He added that fifteen per one million in the United states of america have been diagnosed with mesothelioma or asbestos cancer. In addition, he stated that despite EPA regulations to restrict the production of asbestos, the mineral still remains legal in the U.S. Asbestos is being used on different applications such as roofing materials, automotive brake repairs and other products that when disturbed can release toxic fibers, which are airborne and can easily be inhaled. The mesothelioma lawyer said that victims need all available supports in their medical arsenal to battle it. He added that it is important to hold the companies accountable for the pain and suffering they caused to the victims.
