Inter office memos and the company mail room has been replaced with electronic communications in almost all businesses these days. But for all it's advantages, electronic communications, like anything technical, is only as good as the software used to run it. It is in this area that Microsoft has been providing top flight software and even hosting for businesses of all sizes for decades now. With that kind of experience and expertise, one can't go wrong utilizing them. For businesses of all sizes, cloud computing has become popular, as networking among all departments is a snap. Employees can submit all tasks, documents, project, etc, to the service provider where all company personnel can then access the same information, leading to greater communication, productivity, and morale. And just like email itself, Microsoft has been tops in leading the way of cloud computing as well. Microsoft SharePoint Online provides the means for businesses of all sizes and types to:rnCreate and share documents with co workers by utilizing My Sites rnKeep teams on the same page via shared libraries, task lists, and calendars with Team SitesrnProvide communication among co workers in real time within Share Point Online All of these can be done with no server purchases. A company can establish satellite offices anywhere, work interim or contract staff, even handle newly acquired business without a hitch. Productivity is increased right out of the gate. And all of this is done with the simple and familiar experience of application and interface of other Microsoft products such as Office.rnAs great as Share Point is, business can't thrive without an email program, and again Microsoft come to the rescue with Exchange Online. With Exchange, businesses can enjoy full integration with a hosted exchange, while enjoying top of the line security. Being web based, accessibility is limited only by one's access to the internet. And best of all, Exchange Online works with hundreds of compatible mobile devices. Communications are fully secured by Exchange, whether specifically the hosted exchange, or used with Share Point Online. All data is fully protected by industry leading anti virus and anti spam software. Where Exchange Online can really prove its worth, though, is in the area of the recovery of lost emails and data by geo redundant data centers that replicate all data. These centers meet international standards, as certified by independent, third parties. While there is no shortage of free services out there, and there is no arguing that they do offer tremendous convenience and accessibility, for anything other than personal use, they tend to fall short. Free providers can't and don't guarantee security of the data that is sent or received, nor the reliability of the service provided. Should there ever be an technical issue or even a question, there is no tech support for customers. And if anything ever gets lost for any reason, there is often no means of recovering lost data. That alone is cause for pause as to whether such a service is a good choice for business communication needs. In closing, you can't go wrong with Share Point Online tag teamed with Exchange Online, as the advantages far outweigh any costs involved. And with the capability of providing needed mobile email as well as email archiving for ease of use, everyone in the office will stay in contact.
