rnWe all deal with stress in different ways, but most millennials live with some amount of stress in their life. It’s known that they are the generation that struggles the most– the market is overcrowded, the real estate market is getting more expensive, social media pressure is noticeable, and their need to follow trends is evident. All of these factors, and more, contribute to their health issues, mentally and physically. As a consequence, they are more likely to develop migraines and anxiety when compared to other generations. Here, we will take a look at some of the factors involved in developing these conditions, and some solutions to it.

Causes

Migraines

Migraines are intense, painful, and prolonged headaches that some people suffer as a consequence of stress, anxiety, and even genetic conditions. There are many types of migraines, and a variety of things can trigger them. For some people, the primary triggers are stress, coffee, lights, or even music! If you suffer from this condition, we know how hard it can be. You could spend all day in bed, taking medicine, and nothing could relieve the pain.

Anxiety

We all know that social media can be great for some things, but it could make a lot of people feel insecure about themselves and their lives. Therefore, they try to change their lifestyle and their looks to resemble those they’re following. Sometimes, these changes can bring frustration into their life and provoke anxiety attacks. Social media anxiety is an issue because it leads us to compare ourselves to “perfect lives’ often displayed online. It can give us anxiety when we want to post something but are worried about inappropriate comments. Sometimes, these networks can even be used for online bullying. Anxiety is a mental disorder where someone feels continuously threatened, and therefore, is always in a state of panic. This condition can lead to more severe ones, like depression, panic attacks, or even suicidal thoughts.

Relieving the Issues

There are many ways to help you feel better if you’re experiencing these conditions. Here are some.

CBD Oil

Cannabis is a potent component found in marijuana plants. It’s been used by our ancestors since the beginning of our times. However, it was considered as a psychedelic drug that was used recreationally. Now we know how many benefits CBD oil has, especially organic CBD oil. This is the best kind because it’s free from all of the harmful chemicals used in agriculture. Cannabis is great for relieving anxiety because it interacts with the serotonin receptors in our brains. It’s proven that having low serotonin levels can lead to depression and anxiety. Getting anxiety medication is an effective way to help deal with this condition, but if you’re looking for a more holistic treatment, this is an option worth considering.

Turn Off the Lights

Migraines are all different, and they could even have photosensitive effects. If you’re experiencing a migraine, laying down on your bed with all the lights off can be pretty useful in terms of relieving the pain. This solution needs to be applied with the correct medication too. Also, sleeping can be an excellent way to get rid of the migraine. Sometimes, just sleeping the headache off can relieve the pain once you’re awake again.

Using an Ice Pack or Heating Pack

This “treatment” depends on what works for you. Putting an ice pack or heating pack on your forehead while experiencing a headache can also bring relief, but not everyone works the same! Some people feel relief when they have something cold on their heads, while others feel even worse than before. It all comes down to experimenting and noticing what works better for you. Just make sure that you don’t put either one on for too long because it can cause affect your skin!

Stress Management

Migraines and anxiety are usually triggered by stress, so it’s essential that you manage stressful situations in a way to where it doesn’t impact your health. It’s crucial for our health that we take some time off from work to be at peace with yourself. Sometimes, when we deal with something that stresses us, we decide to keep it to ourselves– but relaxing for a minimum of 10 minutes a day is enough for you to feel drastically different.

Final Thoughts

Migraines and anxiety can bring someone down pretty quickly, so we must take care of ourselves whenever we can. These conditions are usually triggered by stress, the heat, our emotional state, and even hormonal changes. Learning some tips and tricks on how to manage stress could help you avoid triggering a headache or a panic attack. Also, some solutions like using CBD oil, getting some sleep, turning the lights off, and taking painkillers can be used for relieving symptoms associated with migraines and anxiety.
