Working at the Mitsubishi dealer in Surrey, I get to hear all the latest news first. I was one of the first lots of people to see the Mitsubishi global production figures, as well as sales and export figures. Total global production reached 106,267 units which is 15.1% up over June 2010 and is the first consecutive year-on-year monthly sales increase since May this year. Passenger car output was 9.9% up at 52,283 units. A total of 47,198 units were produced Overseas, 25.4% up over June 2010 and the sixth consecutive monthly year-on-year increase since January this year. In Europe, output reached 1,708 units, 12.1% down on last year. Exports from Japan reached 47,096 units, 25.5% up on June 2010, the first year-on-year rise since February 2011. Exports to Europe were up 7.4% year-on-year at 18,275. Total global production rose 4.4% for the first six months in 2011, at 585,526 units, which is the second year-on-year half-term increase since the first half of CY 2010. Production volume in Japan was 0.6% down on the previous year at 304,668 units, the first decline for the period since the first half of 2009. At 270,890 units passenger car output was 0.1% up. Overseas production for the first six months of 2011 was 10.3% up compared to 2010, at 280,858 units. Again, Europe production was down, 9.3% at 13,754 units. Export shipments from Japan for the first six months of 2011 reached 222,052 units, which is a 10.2% increase compared to 2010. Exports to Europe were 34.2% up year on year at 94,079 units.
