Now in most cases, your mentor could be one of your uplines. However, if you feel that your uplines are not competent enough to be your mentor, then you will have to look up to someone else to be your role model. In most cases you may not be able to get to know this person personally. If that is the case, what you can do is observe how he or she runs his business and builds his network. Try and replicate his or her MLM marketing system. If there is one thing I have learnt throughout the years, it is this: the best way to become successful is by emulating what someone else who is already successful is doing.

Train Yourself

It is important that you train yourself especially if you are completely new. Even seasoned marketers brush up on their skills from time to time. Here are some skills you should work on: presentation skills, communication skills, marketing skills, your emotional quotient, and so on. Strive to improve your existing skills by going for regular training in MLM, and develop the confidence of a marketer in you. The reason why your chosen mentor or role model is who he or she is today is because of years of learning and training. Now besides improving your skill sets, it is also important that you know what is going on in the industry. Be sure to update yourself with the latest happenings so that you will not be left behind.

Train Your Downlines

Every good MLM marketing system involves not just the training of the distributor himself or herself but the training of his or her downlines as well. The aim is that you want your downlines to be independent and able to build their individual networks on their own, so that you can spend time building yours. Team effort is vital here, so be sure to coach your downlines.
