How Mobile Phone Texting Changed My Life!

I admit it. At first, I didn't understand why in the world people became so excited about mobile phone texting. I mean, why not just make a normal voice call? It just seemed to be so much easier. But I decided to give texting a try and spent a month sending text messages to friends and family members. Here is what I discovered. At first, it took me forever to write a simple text message on my cell phone. It made me very frustrated to the point of wanting to throw the phone on the ground. There had to be an easier way!

Something that would've taken me 5 seconds to relay over the phone, ended up taking me 10 minutes to type out on my phone's keypad. It was at this point that I nearly hung up the towel, but I decided to stick it out for a while longer. All of that changed once I discovered abbreviations. When text messaging, most pros use abbreviations for popular phrases or sayings. This allows the user to send & receive messages faster. Not only does it improve the speed but permits the conversation to maintain a better flow.

This was like a genuine breath of fresh air for me. I started chu ing out text messages in seconds, instead of several minutes. It was like a giant light bulb instantly went off. The other thing that I really learned to love about texting with my friends and family was the fact that I could respond to them whenever it was convenient for me. I didn't feel as compelled to interrupt my activities to reply as I normally did with a ringing phone. It saved a lot of time and fit perfectly into my active work and leisure schedule. I felt content to finally add this modern technology to my busy lifestyle.

My productivity definitely increased as a result. Overall, I have a new-found appreciation for mobile phone texting. Used in the right way, it can really be a useful means of communicating with friends, family, and business partners. There is an incredible amount of options to make your texting experience better. Many modern phones include an auto-correct feature that will learn over time to interpret your most commonly used phrases. Just one more great advantage of using texting over a voice call. Then there is using these cute little icons known as emojis! Sometimes you can replace a sentence with just one smiley face... A picture is worth a thousand words... right!
