Modern Furniture – choice is yours

Today’s furniture is a mixture of all with simplicity and its functionality to make our life luxurious and interesting. Modern designs have come out due to some mixed influence such as innovative materials, and methods used in the making of furniture. They combine the new philosophies, exotic foreign designs, art the creativity of the designers and artist of pre 1995 era.

The materials used in the making of today’s Modern Furniture are steel-in many forms, plastics and molded plywood. They are pioneering compared to what was used before. The use of these innovative and new materials and the methodology has given way to the disciplines of the art and technology, influenced by German design and art, used across the world. They started using the new materials and technology for mass production and the good design can be accessed by masses.

If we go by chronology, the movement which produced the design of Modern Furniture started earlier than what we know as the furniture produced during 1920s and 1930s in are now recognized as the Modern Classic Furniture. The emphasis on technology, art and new materials was invented during that era.

It is obvious that all the furniture, produced these days is not modern as there are some amounts of traditional designs which are still made today. They sit between the designs of two eras and are neither modern nor traditional and are called transitional furniture.

Contemporary furniture designers and the manufacturers are still in the process of evolving designs and seeking new raw material, they still employ the form of simplicity & lightness instead of heavy materials. They are still making efforts to go beyond to make something which provides us entirely new experience of Modern Furniture.

The designs which initiated this shift were designed in mid 20th century before the 60s. Yet these designs are regarded as modern age symbols internationally. Modern Furniture has now become a sign of sophistication and elegance with modern designers always think of our comfort and convenience.
