During a time when players like Kyle Walker, Romelu Lukaku are being sold in excess of £50 million, Liverpool managing to get Mohamed Salah for a mere £36.9 million seems like an absolute steal. The Egyptian international who first came to light at Fiorentina was targeted by Liverpool back in 2013 but ended up at Chelsea FC before permanently moving to AS Roma where he spent two seasons producing a ridiculous 34 goals and 24 assists. Not only could the 24-year-old winger create chances but also score quite a few. In a defensive League like the Serie A, Salah had managed to notch up impressive numbers and was amongst the top 5 most creative players in Europe last season alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard, Christian Eriksen and Lionel Messi. Amongst his impressive lethal attributes is his incredible speed. Salah is ridiculously fast and could most likely match Usain Bolt in a straight sprint. Even Jurgen Klopp seemed awestruck with his speed, “He would still be running if we didn't get him off the pitch,” said Klopp. “It was good. It's nice for everybody to see him on the pitch with his speed, but not only with his speed, with his football skills.” The Egypt international is currently on a pre-season tour with the Liverpool squad in Hong Kong and had already made an impression with a goal in his first outing as a Red. With less than a month to go for the start of the season, let’s take a look at how Salah can be impactful for Liverpool big ambitions for this season. The front four of Liverpool would comprise of Firmino/Sturridge in the striker role behind Salah who will most likely replace Sadio Mane on the right wing helping him cut on to his favoured left foot while Mane will move to the left-hand side. In the middle, we could Coutinho in the No.10 role leading the charge and break down the opposition's defence. Salah will prosper on the right-hand side with his ability to cut on to the left foot similar to that of Arjen Robben and find the back of the net. And unlike, the Bayern Munich winger, Salah is also strong with his right foot making him a defender’s nightmare. With Salah’s pace and Jurgen Klopp’s pressing style, Liverpool will no trouble breaking down those tough defences who gave the Merseyside club a tough time last season. With the help of both Mane and Salah, Reds can overcome their setbacks from last season. From what we have seen so far from Salah in pre-season, the 24-year-old has quickly managed to sync with the attacking force of Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana and Sturridge. And with Mane set to return t full training next week, Liverpool are sure to get even better as the season approaches. Compared to his exploits last season in the Serie A, Salah will find the Premier League a bit tougher than he probably thinks but it will only be a matter of time before he manages to adapt to the English and unlock his full potential.
