Mohammad Sheikh Suliman’s galloping success

20 Arabian horses, almost 30 wins and awards at international horse shows, and just 4 years in operation. Mohammad Sheikh Suliman’s equine centre Al Sheikh Horse Stud is taking the Arabian horse world by storm.

Before the stud

At only 30 years old, Mohammad already has an incredibly long list of highly remarkable achievements. By the time Mohammad graduated from Tel Aviv University in 2005, he had already founded several successful start-ups, one of which was sold for a large profit to a Chinese company. With time, he became a passionate real estate entrepreneur with a truly impressive portfolio.

Mohammad soon progressed from founding his own companies to helping others realize their business dreams. He spent several years focusing on his status as an angel investor – investing a total of more than $7 million into over 45 companies, most of them start-ups and early stage ventures.

Al Sheikh Horse Stud

In 2016, Mohammad founded his personal equine centre for selective breeding of Arabian horses – named Al Sheikh Horse Stud.

Arabian horses are among the most expensive equine breeds. They’re smaller than common horses, with more elegant features – and are often bred specifically for these defining characteristics. Arabian horse studs – professional breeding centres, that is – compete during both national and global championships, with a panel of judges evaluating the horses according to a broad and highly specific set of criteria.

Just like with his previous ventures, here too Mohammad has proven himself wildly successful. His role is not limited to managing the stud as a business and financing its activities. He’s a qualified horse trainer, and actively participates in the training and preparation of his exquisite horses for shows and competitions. And training is incredibly important with championship-ready Arabian horses: judges take not only the horses’ physical features into account, but also movement and behavioural characteristics such as elegance, intelligence, and confidence.

Medal after medal

Since the very beginning of its operation, Mohammad’s stud has been setting the standard for Arabian horse breeding and welfare. Over time, it has become one of the most well-known and respected horse studs.

The Al Sheikh Horse Stud has won its first silver medal already in the first year of running. Since then, almost thirty more followed, including such prestigious awards as a number of wins at the All Nations Cup in Aachen in 2018 and 2019, the title of World Gold Champion at the Arabian Horse World Championship in Paris in 2018, and – also in 2018 – the European Gold Champion award at the Lier European Championship.

Mohammad’s horse stud has been continuously expanding, and he currently owns twenty stallions and mares. The horses are kept at two sites which belong to the stud, one in Israel and one in Belgium. Although so far, the stud has been entering four main equine representatives for championships and shows, it’s expected that the show-stable will be expanded with time, as new additions join the Al Shekih Stud family.
