Money As Energy: Is It Just More Love?

Several years ago while meeting with a woman who was interested in my Zen Gardens, she said something that struck me like the ol' proverbial frying pan to the head. She said: "Money is nothing more than love in an alte
ate form. It's ENERGY. If you're struggling with it, you're looking at it from a very skewed perspective. Just think about it."
Now, all these years later, her voice comes back to me. I hear it as clearly as if she were sitting right beside me. And yes, it makes me smile. It makes me smile because once more I am considering some of the things that may lend to what is so commonly called "poverty consciousness". I know lots of people in this state at the moment, all of whom I love, most of whom will not let go of their own limiting beliefs about money and/or prosperity. What's a girl to do?
So then...let's say that money IS merely an alte
ate form of love. An energy form that flows just as other energy forms flow. If you think about the many people on this planet who have TONS of money and consider their gifts, talents, intelligence, etc., it's pretty easy to see that none of those things necessarily have anything to do with their massive fortunes. I personally know quite a few people who are....(hmmmm. how shall I say this?) less than brilliant or have any sort of extraordinary talents but who happen to be wildly wealthy. They're just "plain ol' folk" who have, somehow, tapped into this unending flow of prosperity. And to them I say "BRAVO!" For the rest who have yet to get this I say "How about an attitude adjustment?"
What if...instead of seeing money as some elusive 'thing' that will never come to you in any sort of 'big way', you looked at it as a current. A current of Universal love that flows {whether you believe it or not}. If you're building a dam made of resentment and anger and neediness, do you suppose that current is going to flow TO you or AWAY from you? If you're building a dam out of ANYTHING, it doesn't much matter how much you beg, plead or work your ass off. You're still going to be cutting off that energy current. It's got nothing to do with luck, or smarts, or your family's background. It's got everything to do with how you perceive it and how it makes you FEEL when you think about it. Does money make you feel 'less than'? Does money burn a hole in your pocket? Does money seem to trickle in and FLY out of your hands?
These are very good questions to ask yourself if you happen to be tangling with money issues. There is nothing that will stop the flow faster than resentment. And I know firsthand just how powerful the reversal can be. There is an adage that goes: "resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die."
What do you think? Time to readjust your thinking? Or would you rather just keep adding mud to that dam?
