Motion in Stillnes and Stillness in Motion

This is a foundational method/theory in Chinese Internal Martial Arts and is also adapted into or utilized by many other martial arts systems.

Like all methods there are varying levels of understanding, incorporating, and abilty, this is a very basic interpretation of one aspect of martial training, combat.nncombat, in this context, is a physical encounter with someone/something, or multiples of those, that intend to cause you or some one else physical harm.nnthe moment the encounter begins (this can be before you are physicaly attacked) you move and do not stop moving till they/it can no longer cause you or someone else harm. nperhaps you ran, then keep running. nperhaps you grabbed their weapon, don't stop there!!nperhaps you evaded an attack, don't stop at the evasion!!!nperhaps you attacked, don't stop after one move.nnonce in motion, stay in motion!!!nnstillness, is stillness of the ego and emotions. ndon't think you have the advantagendon't think your more or better trainedndon't assume you are faster or stronge
don't think you are safer by fighting your fightndon't worry about thier safetyndon't worry about the possibilities of legal ramifications, because your life is worth it!!!!ndon't clutter your mind with anger, fear, excitment, desirennso the stillness of the ego and emotion improve your physical possibilities, the stillness enhaces the motion.nnremain calm and relaxed in the face of disaster, but don't just stand there admiring the fact you are able to!!!
