Motionless mixers are an effective mixing solution for the piping system designer.

Motionless mixers uses a series of specially designed angular mixing elements that are designed to divide, recombine, impact and spin the process liquid. These elements create high levels of turbulence that will quickly and consistently provide complete mixing of your process liquid.

The motionless mixer is an alternative to a more traditional agitated vessel. It is primarily used in a continuous process stream rather than a batch process.

Motionless mixers are well suited for a wide range of industrial processes and requirements. They can be used for both turbulent flow and laminar flow applications. A motionless (static) mixer has no moving parts and uses very little energy to create high levels of mixing in an in-line process. While they are primarily used for mixing liquids and gases, they can also be used for mixing solid granular materials.

Applications include:
• Liquid-Liquid mixing
• Gas into Liquid mixing (contacting)
• Process Intensification
• Improving heat transfer of process (through the use of a static mixer in a tube/shell heat exchanger)
• Mixing granular powders
• Mixing viscous polymers/adhesives (laminar flow)

Applications can be found in nearly all process industries including
• Food & Beverage
• Petrochemical
• Resins/Fibers
• Pulp/Paper
• Water/wastewater

Static mixers are useful in dilution processes, where changes to the concentration of a chemical need to be consistent and reliable. Dilution mixers can be used for acids and bases and disinfection products.

Desalination processes use static mixers extensively. Desalination static mixers are used for pH control of the permeate and reject water, adding antiscalant, and disinfection of the pre RO and finished water.

Komax offers static mixers constructed from a wide range of materials. Komax offers a Teflon static mixer that is suitable for concentrated acid dilution and high temperature acidic processes that can quickly destroy and unlined mixer. Teflon Static mixers are available in sizes ranging from 2” to 12” and can be customized for the individual requirements of an application. Teflon static mixers are designed with stiffened PTFE mixing elements that will provide a long a durable life in the most sever applications. Komax motionless mixers are used for large scale. It is mainly used for water channel having open and close ducts. Komax engineers are ready to prepare any kind of motionless mixers as per customer’s requirement.

Obtaining a customized motionless mixer for a specific application is straightforward. Contact a technical representative at Komax www.komax.com, and they will quickly provide an effective, low cost static mixer solution that meets your process requirements.
