If you are one that tends to procrastinate, then this post is for you! It is time to put all the evil procrastination aside for good. Many will say that it is easier said than done, but with some help it can be accomplished.

Procrastination is something that will literally suck up all your time. You may think that you will get to that project at a later date or perhaps feel that you work best under pressure, but you are just kidding yourself. Think about this for a second, many times we and yes, I am guilty of this as well, will put off a project that we know must get accomplished but can't find the energy to do it. Instead of tackling it full force, we put it on the back burner and then stress out because we waited.

In order to battle procrastination we must be aware that we are doing it. Once we are aware of the signals, then we can better tackle it. First, we must be aware that we procrastinate when we find the task difficult or un-enjoyable. We also tend to procrastinate when we cannot distinguish between priorities and tasks. We must determine which tasks are important and cannot wait and accomplish those first.

Many will opt to complete the easier tasks and avoid the more difficult tasks which tend to be the important ones. Sure, the easier ones are simply that, easier, but consider the feeling that follows when a difficult or more important task is completed. The sense of accomplishment is incredible!

Instead of feeling overwhelmed over a particular project, here are some tips that will help:

Determine how long the task will taker
Break down the task into doable time framesr
Take baby steps until the project is completer
Tackle the project with a SMILE, yes a smile!
Most importantly don't put it asider
Now you may be wondering why I mentioned tackling your project with a smile. A smile will automatically change your mood. Procrastination will only flourish negativity which we definitely want to avoid.

We will continue to tackle the nemesis of procrastination and I will share more tips, so be sure to come back soon. Together we can remove procrastination and start accomplishing the daunting tasks.
