I have no particular aversion to exercise. As a matter of fact, I rather enjoy it! The obvious problem is once you stop exercising for any period of time it is difficult to jump-start the process again. You know you have let your wellness level suffer. You know you will have to work very hard to regain what has been lost.

This is where my single muscle philosophy comes into play. It is a mind game, no doubt about it. But it is the mental fortitude that pushes us all to achieve our goals, whatever they may be. For anyone that has ever lifted weights or performed any other strenuous activity, you know you feel it the next day. That uncomfortable yet comforting feeling is more that just pain. That sensation is the delivery of knowledge that your body is changing. That muscle is forever altered by the single impact of the prior days events. You may not see an immediate change in your muscle tone or the scale, but the thought that you have breathed new life into that particular muscle should encourage you to not waste that effort. Since muscle activity is cumulative, the piling on philosophy applies here. This is not meant to deliver a guilt-laden burden to exercise, but rather to encourage you not to waste your precious life's time by doing something yesterday you won't follow through with today.

Just move a single muscle today. Feel the difference tomorrow. Build on that well being the day after. Every single muscle makes a difference.
