Taj Mahal is a living example and a perfect reflection of the true love of a King and his loving Queen. This monument is visited by several of travelers who come here from different corners of the world to experience its aura.

Love story behind Taj Mahal:
Taj Mahal one of the seven wonders of the world is an amazing monument representing the true love of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaj Mahal(Arjumand Banu Begum). Shah Jahan who was a Mughal emperor fell in love with the beautiful Mumtaj when he first saw her in the market. He was deeply in love with her and finally married her. After five years of their marriage she died while giving birth to their last child. Shah Jahan was so depressed with that. He even declared the royal mourning for about two years in the memory of her death. So he decided to build the world's most beautiful monument in the loving memory of his wife. Taj Mahal took almost 22 years to complete and is one of its kind. Even after death Shah Jahan was buried in Taj so that he can be with his wife after death.

Story of its construction:
The construction of Taj Mahal was started in the year 1632 and was completed in the year 1653 after 22 years. Abd ul-Karim Ma'mur Khan, Makramat Khan and Ustad Ahmed Lahauri were the chief architects who were appointed by Shah Jahan. He ordered the white marble from Persia and Italy. About 22,000 workers were used for its construction. After its construction was completed it is believed that Shah Jahan ordered his ministers to cut the hands of the workers so that they can not built a structure like Taj again. It is the most famous story that is associated with its construction.

Everlasting story of Shah Jahan:
Shah Jahan was so lost in building the Taj Mahal that he was spending the state treasure like water. After seeing this his son Aurangzeb took over the power and captured his father. He was imprisoned in the Agra fort from where Shah Jahan used to see the Taj every day. Finally when his end was near he requested his son to bury his body near the tomb of his wife. Today this loving couple are lying beside each other.
