Munoz eager for shot at title
Mark Munoz is an accomplished former NCAA wrestling champion who is currently on a 3 straight victory streak and is ready for a fourth one as he will be facing another American in Chris Leben at UFC 138 on November 5. Munoz’s immediate plans are focused on getting a shot for the title and about this, he mentioned that “I definitely feel a victory over Leben gets me a step closer to where I want to be. If it gets me the title shot, that’s great. If it puts me further up the ladder, that is great too. This fight certainly has big implications on the title shot and I’ll treat it as such. At the same time, I want to be the world champion and it’s only a matter of time before I get there.”
Roddick and Djokovic advances at Basel tennis tourney
Andy Roddick managed to beat Czech Radek Stepanek in 3 sets at the Swiss Indoors Basel tennis event and is now headed for the quarterfinals where he’ll have to play Roger Federer, the hometown hero who is currently 20-2 against Roddick in their lifetime tennis matches. Another world class player that also advanced was Novak Djokovic, the current Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open champion, who defeated Lukasz Kubot from Poland in two sets, and now will be playing Marcos Baghdatis from Cyprus.
Manning hopeful about playing this season
Peyton Manning has gone through 3 neck surgeries during the past two years, and he is still recovering from the last one, but the MVP is still positive about playing at least one game with the Colts this season, and that can actually be the best thing for a franchise that is currently 0-8 and that doesn’t seem to have many chances of coming up with good results anytime soon. “I miss playing, I really do. If I get cleared to play and I’m good enough, would I play? Absolutely,I’d love to because that’s how I’m wired, that’s my job and I love my job. Manning said.

David Poile wants to make of the Nashville Predators a competitive team, and he already took the first step by re-signing goaltender Pekka Rinne to a nice 7-year contract that is worth $49 million. “Today’s signing is further evidence of our ownership’s commitment to keeping our core intact. This is the first step of a process designed to retain our key players and leaders.” Poile said.
