You should also check the portfolio allocation done by the fund managers in their investments.

1. How much the fund managers have allocated for large cap stocks, mid cap stocks and small cap stocks.
2. How much money the managers are investing in high risk companies and what is the returns from those investments.
3. How the fund managers are handling the financial crisis from their ends.

The next step is you have to check the profile of the investment company, the track record and the other products that the company has launched and its performance. Then you should also check the profile of the fund manager, his experience in handling crisis and his past performance.
