I attended an out-of-body workshop at the Monroe Institute in 2002. I was writing the book *Rapid Evolution* at the time, and wanted to revisit the journey I had first taken at Monroe, in 1978. I wanted to explore what changes had been made in my own self-development over the years.
What was new this time was that my father had died 10 years earlier. The day after he died (walking up the hill to the house he shared with my mother) I began having conversations with him. At the time, I thought to myself, this is amazing! I don't have to use the telephone to call home and talk to him. I just think of a question, and he gives me the answer in words that I recognized as my father's
So 10 years after his death, I signed up for a 1-week advanced session at Monroe near Afton, VA. It's where my father and I merged and became one.
On each of the sessions at Monroe, we are asked to choose someone or something to be our guide. Often, while in a deep meditative state, a guide emerges without our seeming to choose them. This time, my father - his energetic form - stood before me. So, as instructed, I followed him without questioning why.
Soon after, my father turned to face me and I found myself continuing to walk toward him, until I had entered his energy field. Without thinking, I then turned around and looked out through his eyes.
Instantly, the phrase "my father and I are one" came into my mind.
From that point forward, the conversations with my father stopped. It was as if we had become integrated. I didn't write about this event in my book, however, I did write about many other amazing events, including the discovery behind the use of the color PINK.
Have you also been to the Monroe Institute ... or had an out-of-body experience? Did you find it similarly "life changing". If so, please share with a comment.
