Mysore, beholding exotic sight scenes is a major tourist city located in Karnataka state of south India. It is the home land for many enchanting tourist spots like historic temples, pilgrimage centers and alluring lakes. Famous Dusara Festival celebrated in Mysore city attracts lots of tourists from all over the globe. Mysore is said to have derived its name from Mahishasura, the demon king who lived in this place. According to studies, it is the second biggest city of Karnataka and lies about 130 km away from Bangalore. This former capital city of Wodeyars beholds a rich collection of spots grabbing thousands of tourists. Following is the itinerary of an interesting holiday package covering some of the prime attractions in Mysore.
Day 01: Upon arrival at Bangalore Airport, representatives from Mysore holiday package will transfer you to pre booked hotel in Mysore. After refreshing, tour trip will start its journey by visiting Mysore Palace. This enchanting palace situated in Mysore is the former residence of Wodeyars. Brindavan Gardens is one among the best known tourist centres in Karnataka. This beautiful garden in the site of Krishnaraja Sagar Dam was built by Sir Mirza Ismail, the then Diwan of the princely State of Mysore. Presence of fountains, cascading water channels, manicured lawns, flower beds, terraces and parterres beautifies Brindavan Garden to a real paradise in earth. This spectacular palace was built by the then ruler Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV for the former Viceroy of India. Mysore Zoo, else known as Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens is another destination explored in Mysore holiday package. This alluring site with Chamundi Hills as its backdrop and artificial lake on premises captivates all eyes. In the late evening, tour trip will return to hotel and enjoy a good sleep.
