Did you know that over 50% of people surveyed, worldwide, report that they suffer from bad breath? This unspoken problem affects many more people than you think! Whether you're reading this article because you have this problem, or someone close to you has this problem, you are not alone in trying to find a way to cure your bad breath. What’s Happening To Cause Breath Problems Are you aware of the basic biological clause of chronic bad breath (or halitosis)? It's the bacteria that live in our mouth. Some of these bacteria, as they digest the various substances in our mouth, produce volatile sulfur compounds, which cause a foul mouth odor. Knowing this, we can now look for a way to fix this problem. If we reduce the amount of nutrients the bacteria have available, we can reduce the amount of volatile sulfur compounds that are produced. These bacteria like to digest high-protein foods such as meats, poultry, and dairy products. High Protein Foods Contribute to Breath Problems One thing that can be done is to reduce the amount of high protein foods we eat, or clean the mouth thoroughly after eating these types of foods. Brushing your teeth, and flossing, as well as cleaning your tongue are the simplest ways to do this. Good oral hygiene may be the exact bad breath cure you need! Simple Solutions Lead to Dramatic Results Check your pantry! Using baking soda is another way to freshen our breath. You may have noticed there are toothpastes available that claim to have baking soda as one of the ingredients. That's because baking soda helps with bad breath problems. Baking soda is useful because it alters the environment in your mouth to be unfriendly to the growth of the bacteria that cause halitosis. If you don't want to switch toothpaste, you can either add baking soda to your toothpaste when you brush, or you can make a paste with baking soda and water and brush with that. Baking soda can also be used when brushing your tongue by making a paste, putting it on your toothbrush, and then gently brushing your tongue from back to front with the baking soda paste. Green Tea – One More Reason to Include This In Your Diet Drinking tea can help freshen your breath. Green tea is especially helpful because it has compounds called polyphenols, which slow the growth of the bacteria in your mouth. Drinking tea also keeps our mouth moist, and washes away loose food particles from your throat into your stomach. These are some of the things that I've found work best as bad breath cures. There are many other possible remedies for this problem, however these are the simplest, and least expensive that I have found.
