If an itchy skin makes life very difficult for your dogs, the problem may well be in the food you give them. Over the counter dog products often have a lot of colorants and preservatives added. This may trigger some reaction, like an itching skin. It is better to change to natural dog food. If we return our dogs to their natural way of eating they should live healthier, happier and longer lives. Nature's ingredients like raw meat, grain, vegetables, beans and fruits like pears, apples and oranges have been recommended as suitable for balanced food intake. Some people may express fears that raw meat may contain bacteria that can make the dog sick. It may, but then the real problem is the butcher, not the meat. Buy from a butcher you trust. Cooking the meat will take away some of its nutritional value. Even a diet without meat is acceptable, say some people in favor of the natural dog diet. The dog will be better off eating raw products. Natural uncooked products are rich in vitamins as well as protein, carbohydrates and minerals. Uncooked food has more nutritional value. Products humans buy and eat often contains additives that may be unhealthy. This is also true of dog food. Manufacturers add extra flavor. While the dogs may love this, it is not always a good thing. Nobody wants to see their dog suffering the unpleasant discomfort of allergies. The problem of constant scratching and head shaking can be solved. All too often we blame fleas, but when there is no evidence of these little pests we need to think again. Diet is without a doubt the probable cause. By changing your best friend's menu to a natural one of good raw stuff, his allergy to unnatural chemicals can disappear and the scratching will stop. Feed your dog nature's products without anything added to it. That way you don't have to buy supplements. We often think something is lacking in the diet, when the problem is actually some of the additives. If you wish to breed dogs you may decide that feeding them a natural diet is the right thing to do. Bear in mind that it is important to change the contents of the future mum's bowl well before she meets future dad. This will prepare her body and immune system well for pregnancy. She needs time to get used to the raw food before her body goes through the changes of motherhood. Do not change her diet when she is already carrying her puppies. Animals and nature go together well. Chemicals do not belong in this picture. Introducing them may cause unexpected and unpleasant results. Avoid them by respecting nature's way. You will save money by cutting out visits to the vet. Natural dog food is an easy solution to many allergy problems.
