Navigating Challenging times. What is your responsibility to your followers?

I find myself saying over and over how we’re in such unprecedented times. In my lifetime, I’ve never dealt with food shortages (except the elusive can of cranberry sauce right before Thanksgiving!). I’ve never dealt with this fear and uncertainty, we’re fearful of the health of our families and loved ones, but we’re also now starting to deal with economic uncertainty in the form of imminent or occurring job losses. From those in the service industry to manufacturing and distribution, we’re in uncertain times, and information is changing not just daily but seemingly hourly. It’s scary, we’re all feeling it, we all have a story, and we don’t know when it will end. But it will end. Take a deep breath in, and remember, it will end. We are strong, and time and time again, we overcome. Here’s the catch; you now have two big responsibilities. First, as a life coach or a heart-centered thought leader, it is your responsibility to continue to post messages of inspiration. I don’t mean reposting quotes from others; I mean jumping on Facebook Live or posting messages that inspire others, reassure your followers that you’re there for them. You need to use your gift now more than ever, to remind all of your followers that there is still hope. If your followers are facing job losses, either directly or within their families, remind them what they can do during this time, they can learn, and they can grow. Use your gifts to show them how. Secondly, you have the responsibility to do offer messages of inspiration, perhaps offer online courses, or lead magnets, but please do not do so at inflated cost or with profit in mind. Use this changing economy as a way to increase your followers, save the pitch for when we’re all healthy and back at work. Use this time to repackage products, replay recordings, package blog posts into eBooks, do what you can to inspire others at a low cost (or no-cost). Many of your followers are facing different levels of isolation, think deeply about your client’s avatar, how do they manage stress, isolation, loneliness, or uncertainty. What can you offer them now, to help get them through the end of this month, or longer? Remember, our consultations have always been complimentary, and we’re happy to talk through this with you. I hope that at the end of this, we have learned how to connect better with others, and we will remember this time as one where compassion, empathy, and kindness triumphed over a virus.
