New Audi S6 for 2012

The new Audi A6 is a luxury saloon that has become more refined and luxurious with every generations, Audi has unveiled new pictures of the latest S6 – the high performance version of the A6.just like the new A6, the new S6 will be more refined than its predecessor, it will harness the refinement and luxury elements from the A6 and add more power. The S6 will capture much of that refinement from the A6 and mix it with the smooth yet punchy delivery of a new 4.0-litre turbocharged V8. Rumours are the S6 will receive the single-turbo version of the new engine, which has an output of around 440bhp. A twin-turbo version with around 555bhp is believed to be available but has been reserved for the RS6. Although the new S6 only has 5bhp more than the old model, its performance and economy are expected to better. Better performance and fuel consumption figures are achieved by the use of Audi’s new lightweight construction and compact dimensions. In the UK the A6 Avant (estate) has typically outsold the saloon model, the actual ratio is 3:2, and therefore the S6 will be available both as a saloon and as an estate. Sales of both the models will start in the spring of 2012, just before the S7 and S8 go on sale. In reaction to the new BMW M5 Audi may unveil the S6, S7 and S8 together at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. This would be seen as a significant move by Audi to lessen the impact of the BMW M5, similar to what the new Audi A5 in Newbury did to the C Class.
