New weather layer to Google map

Google is expanding its map service by adding new feature to it and that new feature is whether forecast report to given region on map images.

The new layer of Weather report on Google Maps

Google map is consisting of different layers and that layers are transit stops, bicycle routes, local terrain, user-posted images, Wikipedia entries, and more. And Google allows us to add different layers on the top of standard Map Images.

1. Go to http://www.Google.com/
2. Click on Map link on the left top. (It will open the Google map)
3. Click on the 'Traffic' Button on top right side.
4. Click on the Weather Layer to add weather information on map.

And that it. You can see the weather reports including temperature, humidity, rains, clouds of any region you zoom in or you can see the weather of other regions by zooming out. The Naval Research Lab is also making it possible to check cloud cover and Google is also letting you know whether it's day or night in any given region at the time of your search.

Google Improving its travel features by adding weather reports in maps.

This feature will help most of the travelers who are away from home to find out their way and weather forecast of the place they are visiting especially if those travelers happen to be using an Android Smartphone. However, when it comes to specifically "away from home" data, Bing will offer a strongest competition to Google. Bing is having its own weather features application. Bing Maps also lets users find local attractions and events, travel webcams, local art, and more.

Google adding weather is just one way that it's matching Bing's efforts on this front. And absolutely that is a bad news for Bing, as travel has been one of their most important target markets since they have launched map.

Additionally, we can expect Google to implement many more travel features in the near to mid future; Google has purchased several travel-oriented companies (the most prominent being ITA), and we have yet to see a strong implementation of the purchased technology.

Google that provides map-related resources and assistance to non-profit organizations--have been training representatives of the Foundation for a Sustainable Amazon, a local conservation group, to capture imagery of the Amazon basin using Street View technology.

The goal for the first phase of the project is to capture 50km of panoramic views of the Rio Negro River, in the area near Manaus, capital of the state of Amazonas.
