Update Passwords: A simple enough task that is often overlooked. Starting a new year is the perfect time to have your staff update all of their passwords on any accounts used for their day to day responsibilities. In fact, it is best practice to have your teams update their passwords every 3 months. Some tips to keep in mind and share with your teams: passwords for business should be different that passwords they use for personal accounts,remind staff not to write passwords down on paper or within the notes on their cellphone and lastly, create unique passwords using a combination of numbers, letters and symbols.
Business Continuity: Do you have a backup plan in place should your business be hit with a cyber-attack? If there is anything 2020 has taught us is that we should be prepared for anything at any time. Now is the time to implement a solution that will automatically backup your data. In the event there is a breech, your business can be restored in a timely fashion and your business can continue to operate.
Intrusion Protection: Having a solution in place that will help prevent any intrusion is critical. Minimizing the opportunity of invasions of ransomware, malware, viruses etc. is the first step in keeping your business secure. Your business should have an up-to-date security software that auto updates to ensure you have the latest technology protecting your assets.
