Paul is a corporate banker. Who, in his words, says: “I help rich people get even richer.” He is 35, is very well educated, takes home a very handsome paycheck that he and his wife live very comfortably off of. Life is seemingly great. But…rnHE FEELS UNFULFILLED!rnYou’ve heard it before right?rnI bet you’ve heard this also…”money is not everything”. We could argue this ‘until the cows come home’, right? But in Paul’s case, it’s not.rnBrendan Burchard said it well when he said: “An entire generation is realising that there must be more to life than working themselves to death.”rnWhen I spoke to Paul, I asked him why he is working these long hours, climbing the corporate ladder and chasing the coin as he is. I was like a 3 year old kid asking:rnWhy? Why? Why?rnKind of an annoying question right? It gets under your skin….in a good way! (i think)rnBut at the heart of answering the WHY QUESTION is where it’s at. Answering the WHY question makes us think long & hard. Which is a great thing.rnPaul’s answer was (wait for it): “I don’t really know. I guess to pay off the house & provide a good life for my family.” I responded with, “That’s cool Paul”. But then I said “….and what else?”rnPaul was a little confronted and had a look on his face that said: “That’s it. What else is there?”rnPaul is not alone. Sitting down and actually getting that stuff that you’d love to do before you die out of your head is what IT’S all about.rnAfter some Bucket List coaching, Paul came up with a Bucket List that would make him happy and give him the sense of achievement that he seeks. The process of actually getting it out of his head and onto a piece of paper was enough to cause him to smile for the rest of the day. It got him excited.rnPaul went to work the next day with a new found purpose. Now he has a reason why!rnWhat’s yours?
