There are many methods which can increase conversion on your website. It's just a simple bit of math to determine that boosting your conversion rate a percentage or two can have a far more beneficial effect on ROI than trying to double the number of customers you daily receive. Often it is a matter that requires but a few tweaks to your site to make such a big difference, and in my mind that is always worth the effort! Let's look at nine smart ways you can optimize your site for conversions! 1. Make Liberal Use Of Testimonials and References – Recommendations from known figures and other not-so-known individuals can enhance the credibility and reputation --rnnot to mention trust factor – of your site. Make sure these are genuine because faking them will be discovered in the long run. 2. Use Professional Accreditation If You Have It – Speaking of trust factors, many people view these small banners on your checkout pages and sales pages as credibility. It certainly can't hurt! 3. Make Sure You Have Search Functions on Your Site – This is especially important if you sell many products, and you don't want them either checking out without something, or worse, abandoning your cart altogether. 4. Consider Live Support, Either Phone or Chat – Another method sure to retain people in your shopping cart is to make help available right now. This can often make the difference in a sale or someone exiting your site. 5. Practice Price Transparency – Make sure your customer knows what they are paying at every step of the way. Nothing is more frustrating to them than to arrive at the final stages of a shopping cart and find the final tab far more than expected. If possible, estimate shipping or have flat fees if there are any additional charges, and be as clear as you possibly can! 6. No Logins – Try as hard as you can not to make customers log in to view their cart or receive their purchases. Some are more reluctant than ever to want any further contact with a merchant, no matter who it is. Think long and hard before requiring logins. 7. Allow Shopping Cart Editing – Allow customers to make changes in their shopping carts up to the last minute. This can actually work in your favor as they may, to your surprise, increase quantities! 8. Enable Shopping Cart Previews – Having a shopping cart available to see during the process is a great tool for customers and constant call-to-action reminder to them. 9. Use As Many Checkout Options As Possible! – Hopefully, your shopping cart software will enable customers to use their favorite payment method. Try and implement as many of these methods as is feasible on your site, and you may find that a corresponding rise in conversion rates is right around the corner! That would be worth it, right?
