It’s so astonishing how trace minerals are essential in our health! Years ago, everything we needed to maintain optimal health was found in the soil and in the water, and sadly, that has all changed. The trace minerals, Tin, Lanthanum, Barium, and Silver help the human body in different ways.

In small amounts, Tin appears to be necessary for normal growth. Because Tin is common in soil, foods, and water, deficiencies are rare. Because of poor absorption causing low tissue accumulation, there is a rapid turnover. Tin does have a low level of toxicity. In excess, Tin interferes with iron metabolism and produces heme breakdown. Tin also increases the excretion of selenium and zinc. But, according to some controversial research, the lack of Tin in one’s diet can alter zinc and copper levels in the heart, as well as altering iron and manganese levels in the muscles. It can hinder growth and one’s response to sound. Lack of it can cause alopecia, as well as increase the levels of calcium in lung tissue.
The trace mineral, Lanthanum, is known for increasing cell growth and in extending life, while Barium is used for gastrointestinal needs. However, high levels of Barium in water supplies have been associated with high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.

The final trace mineral shared in this article is Silver. Of course, when I hear the word, ‘silver,’ I immediately think of jewelry. But, Silver is a necessary trace mineral which helps reduce inflammation, eczema, and hemorrhoids. Silver also helps to stimulate healing, the prostate, and the immune system. Silver is a natural system disinfectant, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal.
