No Matter What

There are many things in life we wish we could change. We may not like the job we have. We may be upset about a relationship that has gone bad. We may have health issues we would like to improve. We may be so far in debt, we don’t know how it happened and can’t seem to figure out how to get out of it so we just continue to borrow money.

Galatians 5:16-17 “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”

No matter what situation we are in, there is a way out. No matter what we have been doing in the past, there is an opportunity to make a change. No matter what happened yesterday or last week or even years ago, we have an opportunity to start over. Each day brings us a new beginning. Each decision we make gives us a chance to make a change. We don’t have to continue on the same path because it is all we have done for so long. We do have that choice to change.

We don’t have to wait for the right time to make a change. All we have to do is stop where we are right now and make that decision to change. It is possible to be determined enough to find the solution and begin taking steps for making things better in our lives. However, we will be more successful when we give the situation to God and let Him guide us through the process. When we let the Holy Spirit guide our lives, it will be easier to make that change.

Psalm 34:22 "But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned."

If we take a minute to look up redeem in the dictionary, we will find it means to buy back, to repair or restore, to free from blame, or debt or captivity. When we ask God to redeem us and we are truly serving Him, He will save us from the things in life we have messed up. He will help us to get back on track again and to do what His will is rather than giving into our sinful nature.

We don’t have to wait for the right time to go to God for help. We can stop what we are doing at any time and ask for Him to help us. We can decide right now to stop going down the wrong path and making decisions of the world. We can decide now to turn to God and make the decision to serve only Him. We don’t have to wait until we go back to church to make that decision. We can choose to do so now.

Every day when we wake up we can go to God and ask Him to help us through this day. We can ask Him to get us on track for doing His will. We can ask Him to show us what He wants us to do with His day. Today is our gift from Him. It is our opportunity to be redeemed. Today is the day we can make the decision to turn away from the things of the world, allow God to guide us and focus on Him to help us make a difference.

Galatians 2:20 “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
