We are enthusiastic to showcase your golf shop as one of the best in the industry. rnPRIDE OF OWNERSHIPrnThe Pride of Ownership Agronomy Support Program will forever be a part of Scottsdale country club. Participating and supporting in keeping the course and practice park in the best condition possible shows a respect for the course, the game, and fellow golfers. This reminder focuses on practice tees, bunkers, greens, fairways, and general maintenance:rnCountry Club Scottsdale practice park tee turf is the best it has been and will continue to be if we practice correctly to maximize the turf. Please hit balls using as little turf as possible by hitting your next shot directly behind your last one, which looks like a continual strip of divots versus a scattered hitting area that takes up too much turf. Green sand and seed will be used by the Agronomy team to fill the area when divots were taken. It has been said on many occasions that Scottsdale country club, has some of the best putting surfaces in the game, day in and day out, which doesn’t happen by chance. Our greens are aerified, top dressed, vertical cut and rolled numerous times throughout the year, which at times seems inconvenient to the golfers, but is extremely necessary for the health of the greens. It is Imperative we fix ball marks by pinching and twisting the turf together to fill the void of the ball mark and then tap it flat with your putter head. Country Club Scottsdale bunkers are improving from a consistency and Playability standpoint with the use of new sand pros or mechanical rakes. The objective, in summary, is to rake the sand smoother than the way you found it, which will be appreciated by fellow golfers playing behind you. We also ask that you place the rakes outside the bunker, parallel with the play of the hole. This is recommended by the USGA. rnAs far as the fairways are concerned, the turf areas are very dense with a Bermuda base grass, over‐seeded with rye grass, giving us terrific turf to play off year round. We ask that our Country Club Scottsdale members fill all divots with sand and seed from bottles on the carts. We realize walkers don’t have this option, and if the piece of divot turf can be replaced, please do so. Since we did not over seed around pathway bunkers, we ask that you do not fill those dormant divots with sand and seed. The Agronomists ask that we drive carts in the low cut fairways versus matting down the higher cut of rough. This will assist in the care, maintenance, and transition of turf. The GPS units on the golf carts give you yardages which are within two (2) paces of the hole location based on each green divided into six (6) sections. We hope you enjoy this yardage system. We also ask that the unit remain on at all times during the entire round. Carts are not permitted on roads. We also ask that no more than two (2) people ride on a cart at any time, and standing on the back of a cart for any reason is prohibited. For your convenience, a limited numbers of carts are set between holes 11 and 12 for walkers to ride the mountain holes 12, 13, and 14. WEDNESDAYS:rnPlease be reminded the guest fee on Wednesdays at Scottsdale country club, is reduced to the family rate, which we hope you take advantage of; and keep in mind, a family guest is welcome to play six (6) rounds from November through May and additionally, six (6) rounds in the off season from June through October here at Country Club Scottsdale.
