How much time do you take to stack your laundry every day? Some of you may take around fifteen minutes or more while others will have hired help to do the same. Here is a machine which can do the job with much more efficiency. A California based company FoldiMate Inc. designed a robotic laundry folding machine. Company presented this robotic machine in LasVegas CES 2019 Tech Show. According to the company, machine automatically adapts to clothing size and shape. This machine can fold around 40 items of all shapes and sizes in less than 5 minutes. Architecture of the machine is designed to fit all sizes i.e. kids wear to XXL shirts, trousers, t-shirts and even towels, pillow covers etc. Robotic technology of the machine determines the size of each individual garment and folds accordingly. The operation of the machine is user friendly.

Technology Used

Machine is combined with ergonomic technology. Ergonomic technology is a science that examines the interaction between human and the objects they use. This technology helps to manage interaction between machines and objects efficiently and safely. Its sensory data gathering and analysis design technique, supports and understands the relationship between human and objects.

Machine Functioning

You need to put garment into a slot at the top of the machine. After making its way through the machine innards, folded garment returns in a stack through a window at the bottom of the machine within a fraction of seconds.

Size

Machine can easily fit in your bedroom, study or in a corner of living room.

Capacity

It can fold as long as you continue to clip garments into slot of the machine.

Electricity

It requires standard power that is 110V – 240V. According to the company, consumption of electricity is estimated to be same as other home appliances.

Price

Though, the company is looking for affordable price but due to taxes and shipping charges as per the regulations, it may cost approximate 980$ in US (69163 INR).

Availability

This machine was first showcased at the CES 2019 Tech Show. Commercial production is slated to start by late 2019 in US and gradually open up in other regions based on demand.
