Anyone dreaming the enter the nursing profession will find that selecting a career within that field can be a tough choice. There're hundreds of various specialized fields for nurses depending on what they are interested in and what they find they can do when they are in nursing school. Some nursing candidates discover they are unable to work with ill kids as it could be very emotional, when kids are critically ill, while others discover they love making critically ill children as comfortable and as happy as is possible to the end of their young lives. Other nursing student enters into a field as a family or friend has suffered years from a debilitating disease and they want to know how to ease and comfort their suffering. A nursing career may start at a clinic or a doctor’s surgery and it may not turn out to be just what the candidate expected. There might be too much office politics or insurance 'red-tape' which prevents them from what they feel is the good care for the patients. These nurses might be better suited for a job as a nurse lawyer, nurse advocate, nurse educator, nurse legislator or nurse life care planner. Each and every one of these nursing roles take care of patients in a completely different way, yet all of them speak for a patient’s right as a human being entitled to fair and equal treatment. If you're more excited about science than the caring, nurturing side of the nursing job, then maybe a career as a nursing researcher would suit you better; you may work along with doctors and scientists involved in research to discover what secrets lie hidden in the human body and learn how various medicines and combination of treatments may unlock a patient’s own curing power. If you are the type of person who likes variety and don't want any two days to be the same, then consider becoming an ER nurse or an ambulatory nurse - who also could be a helicopter nurse. Every single day you'll meet new patients and challenges in terms of who will walk through your door next or where an ambulance might take you. You might encounter the common cold on the same day as dealing with a huge 20-car pile-up on the freeway - you simply don’t know - and everybody will need your aid instantly, no matter who or what ails them. An ER nurse is working in a fast-paced style environment as they are dealing with life and death at a moments notice. They might be busy for hours on end and then not see a single patient for several hours or an entire day. The trans-cultural nursing sector presents among the biggest and growing nursing job opportunities. In this industry a nurse helps an individual or an entire family for another country with different cultural requirements. Healthcare provision is based on these individuals’ particular physical, spiritual and emotional needs and will be dictated by their own cultural factors. There has been a marked advancement in opportunities now becoming available in the reproductive health fields with increasingly more people wishing to have their own children and now being able to do so thanks to advancements in infertility treatments.
